Dream applications 2017
Here are the granting guidelines: http://wiki.theborderland.se/Dreams
Important Dates are:
March 9th: We open the Dreams Platform
April 7th: Soft deadline for Dream creation to get support from the fabulous Dream Guides (40 Dream Guides will be assigned to support the Dreamers)
April 28th: Granting begins
May 8th: Granting ends
May 12th: Granting finalised
Note // We are aiming/hoping/trusting that all Dreamers can enter and submit their Dreams by April 7th, so it gives us enough time to review and provide timely support before granting starts on April 28th. However, for late dreams for those sleepyheads, we will try to reserve some resources to help if needed for really amazing late submissions.
WHAT ARE DREAMS AND DREAM GRANTS?
At the Borderland, we give art grants to help you realize your dream. Then we let all Borderlings decide how our resources are distributed. To help the Borderlings get their Dreams ready, a group of Dream Guides assist dreamers with navigating the system and make calls in case of confusion.
WHO ARE THE DREAM GUIDES? and WHAT DO THEY DO?
First! They are the amazing fairy helpers of your dreamscapes!
They have two jobs. Firstly to make sure your budget accords with the budget guidelines below as well as address general feasibility and safety concerns so borderlings will be able to give out their grants based solely on what they want to see happen at the Borderland. Secondly they can help you with your project if you need to make contacts, present your project better, and so on if you need it.
COOL, SO HOW DO I DREAM A DREAM?
We are inviting all Borderland participants to dream their Deams on http://dreams.theborderland.se Anyone can sign up on Borderland Dreams, but only those with a membership registered on BurnerTickets can create Dreams and distribute grants. For those of you who had an account on Dreams last year, your account is still there, but if you used a different email for you BurnerTickets registrations, you will have to create a new one.
PHASE 1 – DREAM A LITTLE DREAM
Dreams created on that platform can become eligible for grants by the Borderland community after review by your Dream Guide.
You have until April 7th to submit your Dream.
Pretty much all material expenses for projects benefiting the community are eligible for funding, with the exception of sound systems and costumes. Even transport costs are eligible for funding, but with discretion. You won’t get enough to hire your own truck, but maybe enough to cover your needs if you band together with someone else.
READ the detailed budget guidelines that can be found on the wiki: http://wiki.theborderland.se/Dreams
Remember to keep all the receipts of your expenses (electronic or paper). Only proven expenses will be covered by the dream grants.
PHASE 2 – DREAM GUIDE JOURNEYS
During PHASE 2 (April 8th to April 28th), one of our Dream Guides will look at your dream applications and get in touch with you for feedback & potential adjustments.
PHASE 3 – BORDERLING LOVE–GRANT BONANZA
In PHASE 3 (April 28th to May 8th), all members of the Borderland are invited to give grants to Dreams on the platform. Total art grant budget and amount to distribute per Borderling has not yet been decided.
On May 12th, grants are finalized and you’ll know exactly how many YOLO$ you have to make your Dream come true.
With bureaucratic sincerity,
The Dream Administration Bureau
